History of the Math & Stat WebSpot

Over the last few years, the Department of Mathematics and Statistics has experienced a steady growth in the number of course majors. The class of 2006, for example, has 21 course majors. A requirement for the major has typically been for the course majors to write an expository paper and to do a presentation. With the number of majors that we now have, it was clear that we could not continue exactly as before. However, the department would still like to see its majors do a significant writing project and presentation of some sort. The Math & Stat WebSpot was conceived in part as one possible response.
The idea is that the majors write (individual pages) on a particular topic of their choice. Their work would then be uploaded to a sub-website of the department's website. One of the hopes of the founders of this sub-site is that it could grow to be a place where not only majors contribute "articles" on topics, but other students and even faculty could make contributions as well. This is an ongoing experiment and we would absolutely welcome any feedback you might want to give.
